HUBba Kabar Changemakers

Gliding into H2 2023, we’re hosting more events than ever. Honored to see the return of Cartier Women’s Initiative 2023 – Speaker Series Jakarta in April and May. A gathering of illustrious Indonesian women change-makers with their impactful business and personal journeys.

And our greatest pleasure came a few weeks later when Indonesia CWI 2023 Fellow, Denica Flesch, of SukkhaCitta ethical fashion brand, snatched 1st Winner for Asia Region in Paris.

We welcomed guests from far and wide. Our friends from Impact Hub Shanghai visited Jakarta in May to learn about the Indonesian Impact Ecosystem and StartUp scene. The same month saw us host Grad School Students from Sam M. Walton College of Business – University of Arkansas. Organized by Bali Institute, which saw the 30+ Students and Faculty Members visit Bali and Jakarta, gaining invaluable cultural insights and immersive experiences.

The multi-month UN Live Museum Project @ Pos Bloc concluded in May. A truly rewarding experience to connect Jakarta communities with those around the world on the topic of Climate Change.

We look forward to a dynamic H2 2023 with more exciting programs and events for the rest of the year.

Stay curious. Stay impactful

COMBLANGIN Investor Series

Excited to see our signature event series – COMBLANGIN, Community Building and Networking – back for the first time in 2023. We gathered with impact-driven startups and investors in the areas of: Climate Action, Circular Economy, Food Innovation & Security, Waste to Energy, and Water Security.

Honored to see some of Indonesia’s most progressive StartUp Founders and Leaders; @sampanganid@carbonethics@plepah_id@pable.id@plustik.id@alner.id@surplusindonesia@ladanglima.id, @nazavawater, and Recoolit. What made it extra special was our friends from Impact Hub Shanghai @impacthubshanghai attending, able to see the stellar cast of StartUps we showcased at the event.
Special shout out to the esteemed investors who attended: @enpulse_ventures@modalkuid@eastventures, SHEN Impact Ventures, Go

Impact Hub Shanghai Jakarta Visit

One of the key rewards of being in the Impact Hub Global Network is engaging with fellow Hubbers worldwide. So it was extra special to play host to our friends from Impact Hub Shanghai

We filled their days with meetups with StartUp and Social Enterprise Founders, visiting creative lifestyle compound Mbloc @mblocspace, and a tour of Jakarta. Naturally, mouthwatering food ensued from Indonesia’s diverse cuisine, like Padang Food from West Sumatra, that’s world- famous for its Rendang beef dish. They fell in love with Jamu, Indonesia’s traditional healthy tonic beverages, and we were happy to connect them with our IHJ Community Member, Suwe Ora Jamu @suweorajamu28, pioneers of modern Jamu in a bottle.
Impact Hub Shanghai Team attended COMBLANGIN networking event and quickly learned about the dynamics of the Indonesian impact startup ecosystem.

Halal Bihalal – Post Ramadhan Gathering

At  Impact Hub Jakarta, we prioritize people and their needs above all else. We believe that businesses exist to solve problems for people, and this philosophy is the key to our success. Community building is a labor-intensive process, where winning hearts happens one person at a time.

To mark the end of Ramadhan fasting month and Eid Festivities, we hosted a Halal Bihalalgathering with our members and tenants. It was a meaningful gathering, akin to American Thanksgiving. Reconnecting with our community members, sharing heartwarming stories of what Ramadan meant to everyone.

University of Arkansas Grad Students Jakarta Visit

Our second overseas visitor, from Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, although from a much farther distance.

We were delighted to host a panel discussion on the Impact Ecosystem & StartUp for graduate business students from the Sam Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. The event was organized by Bali Institute, a Bali-based organization that designs immersive experiences for international communities interested in Balinese and Indonesian culture.

The event took place at Impact Hub Jakarta and lasted the entire day. During the event, we connected the students with various Impact Ecosystems and StartUps, including B Lab, Makadaya, and Alunjiva. An experience that allowed them to share their journeys and challenges.

Sharing perspectives with diverse audiences is always a welcome experience.
